As a trusted partner, I support my client through every legal challenge, offering tailor-made solutions that work in practice.

After obtaining a master’s degree in Communication Sciences, Kim began her legal career in 1999 as a teaching assistant at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where she taught courses in Private International Law (under Em. Prof. E. Guldix) and Law of Obligations (under Em. Prof. L. Cornelis). As part of this position, she prepared a doctoral thesis on the private international law aspects of cross-border financial transactions.

In 2006, Kim continued her career as a legal advisor at the Royal Federation of Belgian Notaries (KFBN) in Brussels. Starting in 2009, she specialized as an attorney in commercial and corporate litigation, with a particular focus on cross-border matters and cases before the Court of Cassation. In 2019, she completed her specialized training to become an attorney at the Court of Cassation in civil and commercial matters. In addition, she was involved in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing general commercial contracts.

In 2020, Kim joined a multidisciplinary law firm, where she further expanded her practice in national and international dispute resolution and played an active role in the firm’s knowledge management initiatives.

Kim has remained closely connected to the academic world. She publishes regularly and serves on several editorial boards. Her teaching activities grew to include roles as a lecturer in ‘Notarial Private International Law’ and later as a guest professor of ‘Private International Law’ at KU Leuven and Thomas More. She was also a guest lecturer at the Antwerp Management School. Additionally, she served as a teaching assistant at the Institute for the Law of Obligations at KU Leuven and Hasselt University, as well as at the Rector Roger Dillemans Institute for Family Property Law at KU Leuven.

For the past 18 years, Kim has been affiliated with the University of Antwerp, where she currently serves as a lecturer in practice, researcher, and academic coordinator.

Today, Kim joins the Andersen team as Senior Counsel, where she will apply her expertise in commercial and corporate dispute resolution and contract drafting. She is also actively involved in the firm’s knowledge management, supports external communications, and helps organize internal and external training programs. With her extensive legal knowledge, academic background, and years of experience handling complex disputes, Kim is a valuable addition to our practice. She is known for her strategic insight, academic rigor, litigation experience, and client-focused approach.
